A curated set of three hand-painted Chinese famille rose plates in the Canton "Guangcai" tradition — a ready-made trio for a gallery wall, plate rail, or styled shelf. Each plate carries a different auspicious design, united by the same vivid famille rose palette and richly gilded detailing:
Dragon & Peonies — a blue dragon coiling among pink and yellow peonies and stylized clouds, framed by a pink-blossom border and shaped rim reserves of peaches, grapes, butterflies, and auspicious emblems. A symbol of power and good fortune.
Phoenix & Hundred Antiques — long-tailed phoenix birds, woven flower baskets, and auspicious "Hundred Antiques" treasures (scrolls, books, coral, ruyi scepters) scattered across a white ground and linked by turquoise scrollwork, around a central red-and-gold geometric (ruyi) medallion, with a gilt floral rim. A symbol of renewal and scholarly blessing.
Birds, Butterflies & Shou — a central yellow Shou longevity medallion framed by four lobed reserves of perched birds, butterflies, peonies, and chrysanthemums on a gilt-and-coral ground, with an iron-red/coral floral rim. A symbol of joy and long life.
Each plate is marked on the reverse "Hand-Painted Decoration — Made in China" (中国廣彩) and measures approximately 10" in diameter. As these are hand-painted, expect slight variations unique to each piece — part of their handmade charm.
Good to Very Good vintage condition — very minor surface scratching or enamel loss if any, with the gilt trim intact and minimal to no wear. Each has a faint ring of soiling on the reverse from years of sitting/display; it is minor, on the back only, and not visible when the plates are displayed. Hand-painted porcelain, later 20th century. Sold as a set of three.
