A beautifully hand painted Japanese lidded ginger jar (temple jar) in fine porcelain, marked "Kyoto" on the base. The body is delicately decorated with chrysanthemums, a fluttering butterfly, and a crane in a garden landscape, finished with intricate gilt linework, a decorative banded foot, and a gold ball finial atop the domed lid.
Rich in traditional Japanese symbolism — the chrysanthemum for longevity, the crane for good fortune, and the butterfly for transformation and joy — making it both a beautiful decorative accent and a meaningful gift.
